Shipping and Installation Info

Stand alone furniture will be crated and shipped throughout the contigious US.  Crating is an additional charge.
If personal delivery and installation of millwork is required, it will be an additional cost based on travel distance, expenses, and time required.
An estimate will be provided for these charges.

Most millwork can be installed by local craftsmen and is designed to be as simple an installation process as possible.  .
Workwork "U"

Creating and crafting quality woodwork is a blast!

As is true with most things in life, there are as many ways to accomplish any woodworking task as there are craftsmen.  Each one of us takes what we learn from other builders and modifies the approach to fit our needs.  I have been fortunate in my career to have worked with woodworkers from all over the world and have learned from some of the best that no one will ever read about, because these craftsmen were simply providing for their families and not seeking recognition for their expertise.  To these divergent, inspiring woodworkers, I give much thanks and appreciation.  I hope that they prospered as I moved on and continued down my path to here.

Based on my 35 years of producing all types of woodwork and managing several large woodworking facilities, I will begin documenting some of the processes that I use in crafting my work.  I will review past projects that demonstrate different methods and discuss the relative merits of each one.  The past projects will be in a slide show format with photos of the projects and videos to demonstrate particular techniques with a voice-over narration describing the reasoning behind the design and fabrication methods.   As new projects are begun, I will produce construction videos that focus on the whys of technique and the selection of materials for the effect sought.  Over time I will address particular aspects of the trade in order to give you as much information to work with as possible; ie, safety, adhesives, finishes, equipment, shop layout, etc.  Since there are so many good woodworking videos on the web, I will attempt to avoid rehashing info that has already been effectively demonstrated.  I will demonstrate how a small shop can produce and install work that the large millwork, exhibit, and museum companies produce using industrial grade machines and CNC equipment.  In fact, all my work for the last two years has been fabricated using a 10" contractor saw, a 12" sliding chop saw, and hand power tools.  I can show you how to accomplish the same level of quality regardless of style.

So, check in periodically to see what is new on the menu.  Please bear with me here in the beginning as all video will be shot and edited by myself on the Iphone 4s.  Eventually, the production values will go up with the success of this site.  I will provide email notification of new videos, and provide a membership package for those who want to learn the craft.  For the Pros, I will provide a forum for technical discussions and the sharing of ideas.  I'll demonstrate the exhibit fabrication techniques for those woodworkers who want to move into the fast paced exhibit industry.

I also plan to video field trips to the many different woodworking specialty shops in order to show the many trades that make up the woodworking universe.  I will interview the owner/craftsmen and have them show us what they do and point out the differences in approaches and techniques that make their work exceptional.

All in all, my goal is to share the excitement and satisfaction of creating high quality woodwork in your own shop and to encourage all woodworkers to challenge themselves and attract new budding craftsmen to become students of their trade.

So, send your encouragement via the comment buttons.
